Water main connection confirmed for Wednesday 17 March

Sydney Water has advised the water main connection date will be Wednesday 17 March 2021. The shutdown will start in the evening from 9pm and Sydney Water will notify affected residents beforehand. The work will be happening towards Shone Avenue, under traffic control. Residents may see and hear a minor amount of construction lighting and noise.

Once we have completed the water main connection we’ll be able to remove the temporary pipes then install the remainder of the culverts which will be the base of the new road. We’re aiming to have this work completed by Easter.

North side drainage works and preparation for kerb and gutter

Our crews are continuing to work on the drainage on the northern side of Wongawilli Road between Smiths Lane and Jersey Farm Road. This includes the installation of pits, pipes and preparation for kerb and gutter.

Our works crews and project team are back! Happy New Year Wongawilli!

Our primary focus for the coming month is to address the intersection at Jersey Farm Road. We have more stormwater pits and pipes to install, as well as road pavement and kerb and gutter construction.

We will also be tidying up some private stormwater connections and Telstra pit adjustments on the southern side of Wongawilli Road.

Cadifern are also back in action. They're currently working on the transition pieces, which connect the new and old water main sections. We're working towards getting testing and connection dates from Sydney Water by the end of this month.

Last week our works crews completed restoration works of the pavement at the Smiths Lane and Wongawilli Road intersection and at the temporary diversion road near the culverts towards Shone Avenue. These are interim works and we'll be coming back to finalise the road levels early next year.

Turf has been laid at Wongawilli Road and the crews have tidied up the site in preparation for the Christmas Shutdown.

We thank the Wongawilli community for their feedback, cooperation and support during the many challenges we all faced in 2020. From our families to yours, we wish you a safe and peaceful Christmas and New Year. You'll see us back on-site in early January 2021.
