Stuart Park Public Amenities Replacement

Consultation has concluded

The importance of the city foreshore as a unique recreational and tourism precinct has been acknowledged in Council's priorities for many years. A series of improvement projects are being undertaken in Stuart Park, including the construction of new amenities, a new children’s playground and additional parking. Other works taking place in Stuart Park in 2015 include upgrades to parking and pedestrian/cycle access, and the construction of a new regional playground, to be completed soon.

As the existing amenities’ building is dilapidated and does not meet current standards it will be replaced and relocated approximately 20 metres south of the current building. This will also work to accommodate additional car parking.

A concept design for the amenities block can be found in the Documents Library on this page.

The anticipated timeframe for the replacement of the amenities block is:

  • Concept design in development: April – July 2015
  • Public exhibition of concept designs: July – August 2015
  • Detailed design: October - January 2016
  • Tender process: March – May 2016
  • Construction: May – June 2016
We're inviting the community to provide feedback on the proposed design for a new amenities block until 19 August 2015.

You can comment using the survey below or the form in the Documents Library, or pick up a feedback form from Wollongong Central Library, or our Customer Service Centre at 41 Burelli Street, Wollongong.

Council will consider all community feedback submitted during the exhibition, before finalising the design of the replacement amenities.
