Planning for Yallah - Marshall Mount

Consultation has concluded

A Planning Proposal for Yallah - Marshall Mount is on exhibition from 17 March 2014 to 2 May 2014.

Yallah - Marshall Mount is Stage 5 of the West Dapto Urban Release Area.

A Planning Proposal for the Yallah - Marshall Mount urban release area has been prepared with consideration to the outcomes of the Enquiry by Design workshop held in 2011 and the findings of various environmental studies including a traffic study, environmental sensitivity analysis, bushfire management plan, Aboriginal heritage assessment and flood study.

The Planning Proposal shows future land use zones, main transport links and conservation areas, and forms the basis of planning controls for this distinctive urban release area.

Planning for Yallah - Marshall Mount is centred around the five principles of ‘Promoting Activity, Protecting Scenery, Conserving Ecology, Providing Housing Choice and Growing Community’. The Vision for Yallah - Marshall Mount is to create a suburb with an animated town centre and village atmosphere and a variety of densities and housing types. In addition, the escarpment backdrop, biodiversity corridors and Duck Creek will be celebrated attributes of the town.

The Planning Proposal is on exhibition between 17 March - 2 May 2014 and can be viewed in hardcopy at Dapto and Wollongong libraries during library hours and at Council’s Customer Service Centre between 9am - 5pm weekdays.
