Tramway trenching ahead of schedule

We’ll start trenching on the rock platform north of the Continental Pool in the week commencing 12 September 2016 (subject to seas, tides and swells), to get a jump start on upcoming Blue Mile works. Our trenching trials in July were a success, and doing this work now should let us move more quickly when the main construction phase starts next year.

We’ll have to close the shared path for one day to install fencing, but after that, the path will stay open throughout the work. Access to the Continental Pool will be available at all times. The majority of work is expected to take place during the day, although there may be some night works during very low tides.

The trenching should be finished in November.
