Consultation has concluded

A photo of a stone shelterThe historic stone picnic shelters in Stuart Park need to be refurbished and we can now present our plans for this work.

The four much loved shelters were built in the 1940s by Charles Prior, a local stonemason.

The works include a new roof, new concrete floor, repairs to the stonework and new picnic furniture.

Do you have any comments about the refurbishment of the shelters? 

To me the shelters look a lot better with the raised rooves and they should let in more light.

I'm so glad you are keeping these attractive shelters.
I am a bit confused about a contradiction. You say that after consultation with specialist agencies, you changed the part of the original plan to raise the rooves of the shelters. But the plan still calls for raising of the rooves, and the drawing shows a plinth above the masonry pillars which significantly changes the appearance.
Is it really necessary to raise the pillars?
